When The Weather Outside is Frightful...

December, 2016

Written by Mark Drake, MTS Support Staff

“When the weather outside is frightful, but inside is so delightful,” a classic Holiday Carol that applies directly to our remanufacturing process.

Weather plays a large part of the process. We at Future Graphics propose the following for component storage and use in a manufacturing environment. The closer to the middle of these ranges equal proper manufacturing methods.

Operating Requirements

Operating temperature range: 10 to 32.5°C (50°F – 90.5°F)
Storage temperature range: -20 to 40°C (-4°F -- 104°F)
Storage humidity: 10 to 90% RH Relative Humidity

When operating environments reach the extremes of the requirements, the system’s ability can be compromised to perform at optimum conditions.

Low Humidity

Laser toner systems need to charge and discharge to transfer toner correctly. A very dry condition will affect the print system ability to generate print at the correct density and quality.

Another example is a cold weather condition. The components need time to adjust to a normal, working temperature, and humidity for a quality end result. Allow all the manufacturing parts and process to be stabilized at room temperature.

So if your components and cartridges are not in a comfortable happy place, the Grinch can find you and wreak havoc on your business.

MKIC matched systems are developed and tested to deliver the print performance you demand with the replacement system you need. With over 30 years of OPC and toner manufacturing experience on every page, call us today so we can assist you in building quality cartridges with outstanding yield and print performance.
